Ground Source Heat Pumps work similar to a refrigerator working in reverse. They use heat from underground that it converted into useable heat via a heat pump. The Ground Source Heat Pump cycle is very efficient and is able to produce up to 4kW of heat energy for every kW of energy input into the system. The resulting heat can be used for both space heating and domestic hot water heating.
A decision will need to be made as to whether Air Source Heat Pumps or Ground Source Heat Pumps are most suitable for your individual needs. Our designers can consult with you to help you find the most suitable solution to meet your needs. Air Source Heat Pumps work in a similar way to Ground Source heat pumps but use heat energy from the air as opposed to heat from under the ground. An Air Source Heat Pump will typically deliver approximately 3kW of heat energy for every kW of energy input into the system and are therefore generally less efficient than Ground Source Heat Pumps. On balance, Air Source Heat Pumps have lower installation costs and require less space. Both "whole life costs" and installation costs will need to be taken into consideration when deciding which type of heat pump is the most suitable for your needs. Our team can help you with this.
Air source and ground source heat pumps can be integrated with solar panel systems. In addition, they also interface very will with under floor heating and are an excellent solution to providing alternative heating for a new home.
You may be interested in taking advantage of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme. This government scheme is to increase the numbers of households and businesses that use renewable energy heating by providing incentives. The scheme provides for a ‘premium payment’ of £1250 for the installation of a Ground Source Heat Pump providing eligibility requirements are satisfied. Further, the RHI scheme also allows for ongoing RHI payments. If you would like further information about the RHI scheme, please visit our funding page.
Known as Chipping Wycombe as recently as 1911 High Wycombe is known today predominantly for being a deprived London satellite town in an affluent county. Historically, High Wycombe was famous for its furniture industry, which sadly has declined seriously since the 1960's. We are able to offer our services to the whole of the UK and take pride in knowing our industry extremely well.
If you live in High Wycombe, Aylesbury or the surrounding areas and would like to more information about how renewable energy can save you money and help you live a greener lifestyle, call us today on 0845 838 2477 or contact us using our online contact form.
Due to our expertise within a wide range of renewable energy technologies, our team can guide you through the entire process of heat pump installation and the integration of other environmentally conscious technologies. Another benefit of our wide range of services is that our customers will have a single point of contact, which will avoid duplication of costs if these systems were purchased from individual suppliers. Frequently, our Heat Pumps can offer significant costs benefits and higher levels of system performance than individual suppliers.
At Solar Tech, we have access to the leading manufacturers of heat pumps, which include brands such as ICE Energy, Mitsubishi and Daikin. This enables us to provide optimal heat pumps for each different project that we undertake, taking into account each customer's requirements.
If you live in Aylesbury or High Wycombe and you'd like to know more about ground source heat pumps, please complete our contact form or telephone us on 0845 838 2477.
The domestic RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) is the world’s first ever long-term financial support programme for renewable heat in domestic homes and it is now available to homeowners to help offset the initial payments of alternative, low carbon...» Read more
