Engineering/Commercial Manager
We are a well-established renewable energy company based in Buckingham and we are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the technical area of this expanding business.
The candidate should have very strong project management and commercial skills with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar or associated field. Prince 2 qualification would also be required together with at least a current Construction Skills SMSTS certificate.
In addition they should be qualified to a high level in at least one of the following technologies – electrical engineering, plumbing and heating or refrigeration.
Experience in the renewable energy industry would be an asset but strong traditional technical skills are equally important.
The Company
Solartech Ltd is an independent family run company established 10 years ago. We design, install and maintain a variety of renewable energy systems. These include Solar PV, solar thermal, ground and air source heat pumps, wind turbines and bio mass boilers.
We are MCS accredited and work in both the private and public sector, from individual residential projects to large scale commercial jobs, so we embrace a very diverse group of clients that we need to work with and provide a first class service to.
The Job
This post and will primarily be working on the day to day running of the engineering and technical department, reporting to the Managing Director. The role includes managing a team of 15 which include project managers, design engineers, installation engineers and a store man, assisting them in the smooth and efficient delivery of projects from receipt of order to commission and invoicing. This will involve a high level of health and safety knowledge and implementation.
In addition to this there will be a significant attention to the financial side of projects which include producing sales forecasts, project cost analysis, liaising with accounts in relation to invoicing and stock control.
This post will also be responsible for the maintenance of the van fleet .
