With winter fast approaching and the cold weather very much on its way many of us will be trying to hold off for as long as we can before we put the heating on, dreading the day that bill drops through the letter box. With the majority of energy companies bumping up their prices again this winter it’s no wonder people are very reluctant to crank up the thermostat!
But there is another way! Renewable energy systems are advancing all the time and with the Renewable Heat Incentives so readily available to anyone and everyone it’s easier than ever to get your hands on a heat pump for your home. You may well be thinking that this would take weeks, maybe even months to get everything in order and a heat pump installed, but this really isn’t the case. Here at SolarTech we can help you every step of the way and ensure we provide you with the best renewable energy system for you. We can also have your heat pump installed in around 2 days. So you could have a warm house in time for winter.
So How Does A Heat Pump Work?
There are several types of heat pumps, there’s the ground source heat pump that works by using heat from underground and converting this into usable heat that we can heat our homes and our hot water with. It’s a very efficient system and will produce 4kW of heat energy for every kW of energy that’s put into the system.
Another option is the air source heat pump, this works by capturing the energy in the air and converting this into heat energy we can use in our homes. The good thing about these systems is that they are cheaper to install and don’t take up as much space as the ground source heat pumps. However they are slightly less efficient, providing 3kW of heat energy for every kW of energy that is put into the system. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure which one is best, we can assess your home and help you decide which system will be most beneficial for you.
Don’t Forget About the Renewable Heat Incentive
Not only will you see a real difference in the price of your energy bills you can also receive help from the Government for the initial payment of the heat pump as well as receiving annual payments for using your heat pump – meaning a rapid payback time for you.
So if you like the idea of a warm house this winter (and for many winters to come), without that guilty feeling and the worry of those expensive bills get in touch with us today and get a heat pump installed before those frosty mornings and wintery evenings arrive.
