GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS TELFORD
HOW IT WORKS
Ground Source Heat Pumps can be used for heating domestic hot water and for space heating. They work by harvesting heat from under the ground, which is then converted to useable heat by a heat pump. he Ground Source Heat Pump cycle is very efficient and is capable of providing up to 4kW of heat energy for every kW of energy input into the system.
An Air Source Heat Pump can deliver approximately 3kW of heat energy for each kW of energy for every kW of energy input into the system and can therefore be less efficient than Ground Source Heat Pumps. However, the installation cost of an Air Source Heat Pump is lower than that of a Ground Source Heat Pump unit and less space is needed. Air Source Heat Pumps work in a similar way to Ground Source Heat Pumps but capture heat energy in the air as opposed to heat energy in the ground. Our design team will work with you to assist in finding the most effective solution when taking into consideration “whole life costs” and installation costs.
RENEWABLE HEAT INCENTIVE IN WOLVERHAMPTON & WORCESTER
Ground Source Heat Pumps are an excellent way of providing alternative heating in a new home. Both Air Source and Ground Source Heat Pumps can also be integrated with solar panel systems and work very well with under floor heating. Installation of an air or ground heat pump system may mean you will be eligible for payments under the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government scheme to encourage renewable heat technologies to be implemented within households and communities. ‘Premium payments of £1250 may be available to a domestic homeowner after the installation of a Ground Source Heat Pump. There is also provision for ongoing RHI payments for heat energy produced. For more information about the RHI scheme and requirements, please refer to our funding page.

Make the most of the RHI locally
Wolverhampton is thought to trace its lupine name not to a history of wolves but being named for Lady Wulfrun who founded the town in 985. After being built around the wool trade the town became a major player during the industrial revolution through mining. This gave rise to the term ‘Black country’ which is still commonly used.
We offer nationwide cover and take pride in our extensive knowledge of the industry in which we work together with our years of experience.
